We’ve been trying to get out into the mountains for a hike for several months now, but have been thwarted by one thing or another. The other day we finally got out there. We crammed our backpacks full of sleeping bags and food and warm clothing and headed off into the hills.
We drove out to the Namadji National Park and walked the 8kms from Mount Clear camp ground to Horse Gully Hut on Tuesday and stayed overnight before walking what felt like an entirely uphill trail back to the car on Wednesday. The boys did amazingly well given that this was their first long-ish hike.
It was my first overnight hike too…I’ve never carried a heavy pack and walked for two days straight 🙂 Now everything hurts 🙂

Happy New Year everyone!
